It was the day after Pi Day, Tuesday to be precise. The Ides of March, with a new Moon outside as bright and pale yellow as the lemons in my back garden, outside.
I had just called my friend on the app Discord — Jonathan W. Small, respectively. He and I had gotten into a discussion about the ‘On The Road Award’ that Rony Abovitz had awarded both another of mine, named Sean Unrau, and myself.
Then something happened. We got into a conversation about the mystery of the 404 page on magic Magic Leap's website. Jonathan was clever enough to have pointed out that the way required to open the portal on the custom 404 page is akin to that of a sling ring from ‘Doctor Strange’ in Marvel Comics.

Exactly the same thing…
Due to the fact that you move the mouse using your index and middle fingers facing forward, it seemed only appropriate that the mouse is analogous to the sling ring.
A tool used by masters of the mystic arts to instantaneously traverse long distances in the blink of an eye could be a ring on the finger of an XR gamer, social media influencer, community manager, news journalist— and more.

I feel like this new thought process of the mouse is akin to the tool used to create portals. In a space such as this one, where the universal belief is, that ‘the mouse is yourself’, in the future — I can easily see people traversing from place to place using the ‘sling ring motion’ to take a peek/preview behind places such as a shared network of mobile phones’ camera/meshing. As well as other cameras, for points of access in order to see ‘what’s happening’.
Yes — I can see people actually drawing the motion of a sling ring while wearing XR glasses in order to draw a portal in order to peer into and possibly to step into the ‘Mirror Dimension’ — The AR Cloud/Metaverse/Magicverse/Mixed Reality/Mirror World, Digital Realm, and any other name it may take.
And to be totally clear I don’t think that I am the only one thinking this:
So get on seatbelts and strap in because this star streamer is about to go for a wild ride — One of Magic, ✨ adventure, dragons 🐉, and more — Into the Metaverse. ✨
One where rings you could wear on your fingers could act as training wheels as methods to transmit your very being across the Multiverse of Madness, by creating a portal.
